Owner protection
Hand over the keys with confidence.
Every booking is backed by a refundable deposit, every rider rides on a verified account, and every damage claim is reviewed by JetZi. Here's how we keep owners protected.
You set the bond
Choose a refundable deposit for your listing — most owners charge $800–$2,000. It's held on the rider's card before they ride.
- Auth hold for rentals 5 days or shorter
- Charge-and-refund for longer rentals
- Capture only the damage amount, the rest releases
Real, identified people
Riders book on accounts tied to a real email and card. Payments run through Stripe, so there's a verified payment trail behind every booking.
- Card on file before any booking
- Two-way reviews after every rental
- Reckless riders get removed from the platform
If something goes wrong
File a claim in three steps.
Inspect within 48 hours
You have 48 hours after the rental ends to inspect the jetski and open a claim from the booking page in your dashboard. After that the deposit auto-releases.
Upload photos and an amount
Add dated damage photos, a short description, and the exact dollar amount you're claiming. Pre-rental photos from the dock handover strengthen your case.
JetZi reviews and captures
Our Trust & Safety team reviews every claim. Approved amounts are captured from the bond and the remainder is released to the rider — one shot per claim.
The bond is not insurance
The deposit covers minor damage — scratches, scuffs, rub. JetZi requires every owner to carry standard personal watercraft insurance that meets the legal minimum where the jetski is moored. Major engine damage, theft, total loss, or third-party injury goes through your own policy, which remains the primary source of recovery beyond the bond.
- Carry current PWC insurance to list
- Bond handles minor cosmetic damage
- A partnered insurance product is on the roadmap for 2027
